I found out last night that Gary Gygax, perhaps the best known of the creators of Dungeons & Dragons, has died of natural causes. I can't say I know much about him as a person, but the games and ideas he helped create have certainly had an enormous effect on my artwork and my life. Before there was Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, or Oblivion, there was a little game called Dungeons and Dragons, and in many ways it was born in the basement of one Mr. Gary Gygax. Men like Robert E. Howard and JRR Tolkien created worlds. Thanks to Mr Gygax (and others), I've walked those worlds and many others.
So thanks, Mr. Gygax. Rest in Peace.
